As of 2010, there were 590,080,000 people of all ages living in Latin American and the Caribbean. Nine-in-ten people in the region are Christians (90%), and roughly 8% do not identify with any religion. The share of people in the Latin America-Caribbean region who are followers of folk or traditional religions is about 2%. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews and adherents of other religions each make up less than 1% of the region’s total population.
